In the Creators EAT SEO SEO Plugin, the free version of the Zyra App, there are three ways for authors to promote (crosslink) blog posts in the Popular Posts
tab of the Power Bio Box:
Default, Static, and Dynamic.
To determine the right method, you need to understand which blog posts are most notable (AKA Power Posts). To define your most notable posts, you need to define the main goal of your blog.
Goal | Power Posts | Preferred Method |
---|---|---|
Grow Blog Traffic | Blog posts with highest SEO potential | Static or Dynamic |
Grow Social Followers | Blog posts with viral potential for likes, shares, influence | Static or Dynamic |
Grow Email List | Blog posts with high email subscriber conversions | Static or Dynamic |
Grow Revenue | Blog posts with highest conversions | Static |
Mixed | Random | Static or Default |
Default
The Default logic shows the 6 last published blog posts by the author of the article. If there are multiple co-authors, it will show the main author’s 6 last published blog posts. Note: the Default logic is a fallback logic, meaning it will fire because you did not add any Power Posts
to the Static method.
How to Enable Default Logic
In the Creators EAT plugin Settings
page, select Show manually selected posts as popular posts
and Save Changes
.
If you don't set any posts toPower Posts
, you'll see in thePopular Posts
tab of the author box the last 6 published posts by that author.
How it looks
In the example below, author Michael Jordan has done the above, and so only his 6 most recent posts are showing in his Power Bio Box.
Dynamic
The Dynamic Method
uses a proprietary algorithm to show your latest and greatest Power Posts in the Popular Posts tab, automatically, on all of your posts. It is the best method for maximizing your SEO and user experience, because the recommendations are highly variable and highly relevant on all articles, showing your topically best content and newest content right in the author box, whether you’ve published ten blog posts or a thousand blog posts.
How it works
Step 1. Update Settings page.
In the Creators EAT plugin Settings
page, select Show dynamically generated posts as popular posts
and Save Changes
.
Step 2. Identify Power Posts
Use Google Search Console (or Google Analytics or your preferred source of Analytics) to find your Power Posts.
Open Google Search Console Performance Report > Set to Last 12 Months > Sort Pages by Highest Clicks or Impressions > Select Top 20, 50, or 100 posts to promote
Step 3. Set WordPress Posts to Power Posts
1. Open "Posts" screen in WordPress admin
2. Select (checkbox) of your Power Posts identified in step 2.
3. In the "Bulk Actions" dropdown, click "Add to Power Posts".
4. Click Apply.
How it looks
In the example below, author Michael Jordan sets his Popular Posts generation to Dynamic Method
. An article on Michael Jordan’s Best Movies and Documentaries shows the following:
